Anyone lobbying politicians or trying to influence public policy should have to register with the State’s ethics watchdog, Fianna Fáil have proposed.

Launching its legislative proposals for more transparent government, the party said the forthcoming sale of state assets would see “all sorts of lobbying”.

The proposed bill comes as the Government is examining suggestions from the public over restrictions and rules governing the lobbying of politicians.
