Nigerian man receives stay on deportation order

A NIGERIAN man whose Irish ex-girlfriend alleged he deceived her into thinking he was a former male model working for a British property firm when he had a criminal record has secured a temporary stay on his deportation order.

Nigerian man receives stay on deportation order

Mr Justice Gerard Hogan stressed the stay was prompted “exclusively” by his concern for the ultimate welfare of the pair’s child — Baby C — and the presumptive right of a child to the care and company of both parents.

He granted the stay solely in the context of unfinished district court proceedings here concerning the man’s access and custody rights in relation to Baby C. The man has another child with another woman, but they live in London.
