Ex-TD urges ‘civil disobedience’ over septic tank charge

A FORMER TD has called for “a period of civil disobedience” in response to the planned septic tank registration fee and household charge.

James Breen (Ind), a serving county councillor, led the criticism of the new septic tank levies at a specially-convened meeting of Clare Co Council.

His comments come as senior Sinn Fein TDs admitted they were liable for the household charge but would not be paying it.
