Scaled-down deals at former Anglo

UP TO 130 workers with the institution formerly known as Anglo Irish Bank have been offered scaled-down redundancy packages as the Government moves to cut numbers in state-owned banks.

The final day for receipt of interest in the reduced redundancy terms was yesterday. Workers received the offers before Christmas.

The bank, after tense negotiations with the Department of Finance for several months, offered workers redundancy terms in line with public sector workers.
