Tani touches down to tell tales of space

IRELAND’S adopted astronaut has touched down in Cork to speak to students on what it entails to travel to space.

Dan Tani, who is married to Jane Egan from Kinsale, flew on two space shuttle missions.

The 50-year-old NASA flight engineer was part of two missions to the International Space Station, spending 131 days in space and doing five space walks.
