GARDAÍ were questioning a man last night over the stabbing to death with a sword of a pensioner in his private accommodation over the weekend.

Edward Boylan, 74, moved into the Ravensdale Close retirement accommodation early last year and died there violently before his body was discovered on Saturday afternoon.

His 29-year-old son was arrested in Dublin city centre on Saturday night. He has been brought to Crumlin Garda Station where he is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
