U2 tour takes €225m to top Billboard’s highest earner list

ROCK superstars U2 had the highest-earning tour of the year, according to new figures.

The band’s 360° shows saw them play 44 dates to almost three million people, taking more than €225 million.

Second in the list — from figures compiled by music magazine Billboard — was US rock act Bon Jovi.

The band, led by Jon Bon Jovi, generated a little over €147m from 68 shows, but dropped from their number one spot of the previous year.

A reunited Take That came third. Their Progress tour around Europe took €108m.
