A BARMAN responsible for the day-to-day running of St Vincent’s hurling and football club stole almost €46,000 while working there.

Ken Duffy, aged 31, originally from Greenmount, Cork, and now living at The Square, Ballincollig, Co Cork, was before Cork Circuit Criminal Court on four counts of theft relating to sums of €36,200, €6,900, €1,500 and €1,300. He pleaded guilty.

Duffy worked at the club from December 2007 until his employment was suspended in January 2009 and terminated in April 2009.
