Barman stole €46k while working at GAA club
Ken Duffy, aged 31, originally from Greenmount, Cork, and now living at The Square, Ballincollig, Co Cork, was before Cork Circuit Criminal Court on four counts of theft relating to sums of €36,200, €6,900, €1,500 and €1,300. He pleaded guilty.
Duffy worked at the club from December 2007 until his employment was suspended in January 2009 and terminated in April 2009.
Defence barrister Sinéad Behan said Duffy had gathered €3,000 towards compensation and wanted sentencing adjourned until April 2012 to allow him time to raise more money.
Judge Patrick J Moran acceded to the application.
