Literary festival to celebrate seaside town’s link with Moby Dick
Live webcast debates between American colleges and locals in Youghal, who played parts or extras in the opening scenes, are among the concepts being considered for the event, aimed at nurturing American interest in the seaside town.
Voluntary community group Youghal Concerned Citizens (YCC) is hoping the new literary festival, to be held next March, will enhance the town’s links with the film.
