100,000 jobs target will not be enough, says Kenny

THE Taoiseach said the 100,000 target in his latest jobs plan was “never going to be enough” to alleviate the employment crisis but was an “ambitious” aim.

Enda Kenny was unveiling plans for the Government to partially guarantee up to €100 million of bank loans which would assist up to 1,200 small businesses or start ups over the next decade.

The scheme, which will require legislation, will be in place by next March.
