Gutsy young councillor builds on Labour support

PATRICK NULTY was tipped as a favourite at the outset to take this strongly working class constituency.

The young Labour councillor was expected to build on the party’s strong support in Dublin West, where it took over 29% of the vote in the general election.

Vowing not to be a silent government party backbencher, Mr Nulty has already shown his mettle after opposing Labour entering coalition with Fine Gael.
