Woman crushed to death under bus

A MIDDLE-AGED woman was crushed under a bus in a horrific accident in Cork city centre yesterday.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident outside the Bus Éireann station on Parnell Place.

The woman, who was wearing a red or pink coat and carrying a handbag, was seen walking from Merchant’s Quay and was crossing the road near the Parnell Place entrance to the station when she was hit by the bus, which had just turned the corner.
