Cliffs in final push for wonder title

THE Cliffs of Moher — one of the country’s top visitor attractions — is still in the running to become one of the seven wonders of nature.

Cliffs in final push for wonder title

And today is Ireland’s last chance to vote for the landmark site in an international competition.

The reported 320-million-year-old site lures nearly one million visitors to Co Clare every year.

The cliffs are one of 28 locations around the world selected as potential landmarks to receive the prestigious title as one of the New International 7 Wonders of Nature.

The final seven will be selected based on the highest amount of votes received globally.

Spokesperson for the Cliffs of Moher, Geraldine Enright said a trip to the attraction was an unforgettable experience.

“I would like to remind the Irish people that we all need to support the Cliffs of Moher and vote for them to become one the seven natural wonders of the world.

“It is really important to demonstrate to the rest of the world that we have some of the most incredible scenery and, in particular, there is nothing as breathtaking as the Cliffs of Moher,” she said.
