RENOWNED Irish artist Robert Ballagh performed the spectacular unveiling of a community art project created by Cork’s homeless.

Ballagh stood on the Grand Parade in the city centre last night and triggered the unfurling of a giant banner of artwork created by Cork Simon residents. It was displayed on the outside of the former tax office on Sullivan’s Quay.

The 18m banner features 10 original artworks made by 44 Cork Simon residents who took part in 28 workshops given by 20 volunteer art facilitators over the summer.
