Bill on TDs lobbying judges blocked

A NEW law forcing TDs to reveal if they have lobbied judges on behalf of criminals was blocked by the Government last night.

Justice Minister Alan Shatter moved to kill transparency legislation independent Senator John Crown wanted to push through the Oireachtas.

Mr Crown’s bill would have made it a requirement for elected officials to disclose such contacts when they occurred.
