A MAN will appear in court today in connection with CCTV footage showing Mike Tindall and a blonde woman in a bar in New Zealand.

Local police said a 40-year-old man had been charged with “accessing a computer system for dishonest purpose” after voluntarily attending Queenstown police station.

Jonathan Dixon, who allegedly uploaded the footage and is said to be a bouncer, was released on bail. He is due to appear at Queenstown District Court today.

Rugby international Tindall, who married the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips six weeks ago, went to Queenstown’s Altitude Bar with a group of England players last Sunday week after the management had given the squad time off.

Security camera footage from the bar shows Tindall, who had captained England to a 13-9 victory over Argentina the previous day, in conversation with a woman. The footage appears to show the woman kissing Tindall on the top of his head.

Sources have since described the woman as an “old friend” of the newlyweds. Ms Phillips had described as “quite sad” coverage of the incident. She has been competing in recent days at the Johnson and Perrott Land Rover International Horse Trials in Ballindenisk, Co Cork.

She appeared un-perturbed by tabloid coverage. When asked last week if she was upset by the claims, she told the Irish Examiner: “It’s quite sad that with the World Cup going on, that’s all they have to write about. It’s one of the best tournaments and that is all the news they can get out of it.”
