All hospital rosters set to be examined by HSE audit

ALL hospital clinical rosters and work schedules are to be examined by the HSE’s internal audit section to check whether consultants’ hours “are aligned to service priorities”.

Management confirmed the examination will take place over the coming weeks, and could play a key role in changes to the times and locations specialist physicians are available to patients.

In a document provided to medical unions in recent days, HSE officials said the move will focus on consultants’ existing weekly contracted hours in public hospitals.
