MORE than 250 passengers had to be evacuated from a train when it caught fire yesterday.

The fire broke out in an undercarriage of the train, which was travelling from Galway to Dublin.

An automated system alerted the train driver to the fire outbreak on the third carriage of the 3.05pm service.
