With this ring I thee support: Bride calls in to work on wedding day
Noreen Toye was treated to a champagne reception when she popped in to the Swilly Group School of Motoring in Co Donegal.
Noreen, along with husband Denis Sheridan, stopped off at the offices as they made their way from the church in the village of Creeslough to the wedding reception in Ballybofey.
But when administration officer Noreen arrived at the Letterkenny offices, she found staff snowed under.
So quick as a flash she told new hubby Denis to hold her glass of champagne while she fielded calls before her reception.
Noreen said: “It was just instinct. The place was a bit mad and there were phones hopping everywhere.
“I just grabbed one of them and started to deal with queries — in my wedding dress while drinking champagne.
“Everything finally calmed down after a while and I was able to get to the reception to meet up with everyone else at the wedding.
“I’m just wondering if I can apply for an extra day’s leave considering I worked on my wedding day and in my wedding dress.”
Swilly Group founder Noel Sweeney said not many young women would interrupt the biggest day of their life to book someone for a driving lesson.
“That’s just how Noreen is — so professional. I just hope she doesn’t pop in here for a chat with her workmates if she is ever having a baby,” he said.
