LAWS to set up a debt settlement system outside of the courts will be put forward by Fianna Fáil when the Dáil resumes next month.

The party said there must be a non-partisan approach to finding a solution to the mortgage crisis — something Fine Gael has agreed with.

Junior Finance Minister Brian Hayes said the Government will consider all options and is ruling nothing out in finding a way of helping more than 95,000 mortgage holders in difficulty with repayments.
