ONE of the biggest-selling newspapers in Waterford may lose half its workforce unless employees can produce cost-saving measures in the next 30 days.

Yesterday staff at the Munster Express were summonsed to a meeting by management where proposals to make 11 of the 24-strong workforce redundant were outlined.

Staff facing the axe include five members of production, which would then be outsourced; three printers whose work would also be outsourced, two staff involved in newspaper distribution and one member of advertising.
