93% have holiday wish-list
But Irish travellers are also the tourists who tend to book holidays at the eleventh hour.
As many as 93% of Irish tourists have a check list of things they want to do on a break, the poll by lastminute.com found.
The second most-meticulous planners were the Germans, with 90% having to-do lists. The figure for British travellers was 76%.
The poll of more than 10,000 European travellers, including 2,050 in Britain and 1,030 in Ireland, also showed visiting all the wonders topped the wish-list of travellers.
Second was going on safari and third was staying in a luxury hotel abroad. Other activities people would be keen to do included swimming with dolphins, learning a foreign language and going off the beaten track.
The poll also found:
* The Irish were the travellers most keen on doing extreme sports while away.
* The Irish leave as little as 11 days between booking a trip and going away, compared with 45 days for Britons and as many as 86 days for the Spanish.
* 85% of European have compiled a range of travel experiences to complete.
* 24% of Britons have not yet achieved any of their travel ambitions.
