Cheating costs 50 students a grade

CHEATING in the Leaving Certificate has cost almost 50 students a grade in at least one of their subjects.

There were 48 marks for individual subjects withheld by the State Examinations Commission (SEC) as it issued results to more than 57,500 of this year’s exam candidates on Wednesday.

Up to 30 more students also face the possibility of not getting a grade in one of their exams, pending the outcome of further investigation of suspected breaches of exam rules.
