Financial tax ‘must apply to all EU states’

ANY scheme to impose a tax on financial transactions must involve all 27 EU member states, not just the 17 eurozone countries, Finance Minister Michael Noonan has warned.

He was responding to proposals put forward by Germany and France to help tackle the eurozone debt crisis.

The proposals include greater economic governance within the eurozone and for debt limits to be written into each member state’s national laws.
