HERITAGE campaigners have told An Bord Pleanála they fear an historic city landmark will become nothing more than a “curiosity” if a €150 million events centre goes ahead on the site of Ireland’s oldest brewery.

The National Conservation and Heritage Group (NCHG) made the comments in its appeal to An Bord Pleanála over the weekend against Cork City Council’s decision to grant conditional planning to the Brewery Quarter project on the former Beamish and Crawford site on Cork’s South Main Street.
