Mobile phone network glitch allows people overhear private calls

A MYSTERIOUS glitch in the mobile phone network in West Cork has allowed people in a specific region to overhear private mobile conversations from around the county.

Several residents of Kealkil and Bantry said they are now reluctant to talk by mobile in case their personal details are overheard by a third party.

The main mobile phone operators have all said they have never encountered such a problem before on their digital networks, and are investigating the matter.
