JURIES in complex fraud cases will be allowed to access transcripts of evidence, charts and other documentation to help them with their deliberations under a 10-year-old law that was finally enacted yesterday.

Accountants may also be summoned before the courts to explain transactions or financial dealings of the accused as part of a range of changes to make fraud cases easier to understand for members of juries.

The measures are contained in the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001.
