Woman held in stabbing murder

A 30-YEAR-OLD woman has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a man in Galway over the bank holiday weekend.

Maura Thornton, a native of Spiddal, with a recent address at Apartment 1, 183 Upper Salthill, Galway, was brought in custody before the holiday sitting of Galway District Court yesterday.

She was charged on Monday night at Galway Garda Station with the murder of Mayo native Kevin Joyce aged 59, at the Upper Salt-hill apartment on Sunday, July 31.
