THE love and sex lives of some Aer Lingus workers at Dublin Airport were almost a daily source of gossip and confidential social interplay, a judge heard yesterday.

But a member of the airline’s ground crew heard rumours, allegedly spread by a fellow worker, that he had all but raped a former girlfriend, the Circuit Civil Court was told.

Barrister Louise Fogarty described the case as a tragic one of alleged defamation (which was completely denied), isolation, bullying and harassment between workers that should never have reached court.
