‘Nothing excluded’ from reform plans

TAOISEACH Enda Kenny has told public service trade union leaders nothing has been excluded from the Government’s programme of public service reform — including the outsourcing of their members’ functions to the private sector.

Mr Kenny told delegates at the Irish Congress of Trade Unions in Killarney that he would be the “best champion” of public servants who embraced change. But he said his administration was looking rigorously at all aspects of public spending.

“Nothing is excluded from consideration,” he told delegates.
