Man held in mental hospital

A 31-YEAR-OLD Clare man charged with the murder of an Ennis law student is being held at the Central Mental Hospital in Dundrum.

Joe Heffernan of Cappabeg, Barefield, was due to appear at Ennis District Court yesterday in connection with the murder of Eoin Ryan, 21, at Cappabeg, Barefield on June 7. But the court was told a letter from the Central Mental Hospital explained why he was not present for the hearing.
