THEY met campaigning to have the M3 re-routed away from the Hill of Tara and yesterday the three women were united as they climbed the hill for a ritual to mark the summer solstice.

Wearing cloaks and carrying chalices containing “gifts” for the Earth, Carmel Diviney, Orlaith Browne and Terri Murray joined with druids and believers at noon as the sun reached its zenith on the year’s longest day.

“We are celebrating the light and the strength of the light today,” explained Ms Diviney.
