SKYWATCHERS are expected to do a double-take when a red moon rises in the night sky as part of an eerie lunar eclipse tomorrow.

At around 10pm stargazers are expected to see the extremely rare sight of a coppery moon high in the sky as the sun is setting.

The Chairman of Astronomy Ireland, David Moore, said it is one of the most beautiful visions in nature.
