Man wanted to be deported

A LITHUANIAN man broke into the home of an 86-year-old woman but it was claimed yesterday that his motivation was to get arrested and deported.

Eddie Burke, solicitor, said the actions of Arturas Bartkus, aged 23, were a plea for help and nothing was taken.

Bartkus pleaded guilty to trespass on June 9 and received a six-month suspended jail sentence.
