Kenny warns ministers on ‘solo runs’

THE Taoiseach has warned ministers of the dangers of “solo runs” on issues relating to the country’s bailout, after comments made by Leo Varadkar risked panicking the markets.

Enda Kenny said he had spoken to Cabinet members about “the importance of this matter” after Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin told the Dáil that “loose talk costs jobs”.

Mr Martin said Mr Varadkar’s comments that Ireland may not return to the private markets next year had been reported by 2,200 media organisations around the world.
