CLOUD computing is likely to revolutionise the way business is done in Ireland if we can capitalise on its potential, Education Minister Ruairi Quinn said yesterday.

Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) has linked up with US technology firm EMC to offer the world’s first degree in cloud computing, a way of delivering files and applications over a network or internet.

Mr Quinn, welcoming the announcement, said the Government had already identified cloud computing as a key driver of growth and jobs.
