Work stoppage at cliffs site

THE operators of Ireland’s most visited tourist attraction are preparing contingency plans after SIPTU notified them of plans for a work stoppage next month.

SIPTU, which represents 17 of the 24 staff at the Cliffs of Moher visitor centre in Co Clare, last night formally served notice of plans for a four- hour stoppage on June 8.

The union has accused the centre of refusing to uphold a Labour Court pay recommendation.
