Jail for young mum on heroin charge
Detective Garda Michael Doherty said although the car had belonged to Gillian Doyle, aged 20, she didn’t drive the vehicle and was a front-seat passenger when her boyfriend and his cousin went to a Newlands Cross Aldi car park to pick up a sportsbag full of drugs.
The mother-of-one, of Kiltalown Court, Tallaght, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possessing almost 7kg of heroin for sale or supply at Ballyfermot Avenue in Ballyfermot on January 23, 2009. The drugs were in the front passenger footwell of her car.
