THE Government is exploring what changes they could make to the corporation tax regime that would satisfy the French without raising the rate, according to Brussels sources.

However, Danny McCoy, the head the country’s business confederation, IBEC, warned against making any changes, saying it would create uncertainty and could damage the recovery.

The French and Germans have demanded our corporate tax rate be increased in exchange for getting a lower rate of interest on the rescue loan from the EU.
