No pause for breath as Jedward mania rolls on

LOSING never felt as good as it did on Planet Jedward as twin tornadoes John and Edward Grimes jumped into life post-Eurovision with both teddy bear trainer-clad feet and trademark irrepressibility.

The hyperactive duo, unsubdued by 48 hours without sleep, cartwheeled into arrivals at Dublin Airport at noon yesterday to screams from hysterical fans who had been gathering — singing, chanting and screeching in ever-increasing volumes from 8am, much to the bemusement of passengers on earlier flights who had to negotiate the scenes of frenzied adoration as they exited.

You’re Still Winners, You’re Our Number ONE, screamed the homemade banners held aloft by the largely tweenie crowd of 2,000, chaperoned by bleary-eyed mums and dads who could think of quieter ways to spend their Sunday morning but wouldn’t dream of breaking young hearts by saying so.
