Bodhrán boys’ band to drum up support for monarch’s visit

The Bodhrán Bookills, a unique percussion band from St Joseph’s Boys national school on Cork’s Mardyke, who only play the bodhrán, will drum up support for the Queen of England’s historic visit to Leeside next Friday with a rousing performance of their own composition of rhythmical pieces outside the English Market.

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, are expected to pause and listen to the 70-strong band at some stage during their 20-minute visit to the city market.
