THERE is mounting speculation that two men shot dead and dumped in the south of France last year may be Irish.

Gardaí are among a number of European police forces who have been called in by the French police to help try to identify the two bodies.

The remains are believed to be those of a father and son, which were wrapped in oriental rugs and found dumped in separate locations near the town of Perpignan.
