Gardaí investigate double fire tragedy

GARDAÍ are examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths of a mother and daughter in separate fires in the same house on different days.

Susan Krings, aged 34, had returned home from Germany to attend her mothers’ funeral when she was killed after a fire gutted the family home in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Her mother Alicia, who was in her 60s, was found dead in the same house last Tuesday. There were signs that a small fire had begun near her. It was possibly caused by a cigarette.
