IRISH patients can save up to 30% on medical costs by shopping around in Ireland and up to 70% if they pay for treatment in another European country, according to a price comparison survey published today.

The survey by Avantis Health looked at the price of treatments available on a ‘self-pay’ basis in Ireland and Europe during the first three months of this year.

Avantis health director, Orla Fahy, said Irish patients needing a dental implant, including a crown, could save over 50% if they had the procedure conducted in another European country.
