HUNDREDS of boy and girl racers were in Killarney at the weekend for the International Rally of the Lakes, making it a busy bank holiday for gardaí and a noisy one for residents.

Up to 20 cars were seized by gardaí for offences such as not having tax, insurance or NCT certificates.

There were 24 arrests, up to last evening, mainly for public order offences.
