GARDAÍ hope to bring charges of dangerous driving causing death against a youth who fatally injured a 21-year-old pedestrian he knew in a joyriding crash last Friday.

The driver fled the scene of the tragedy in Crumlin, south Dublin, but was later arrested by gardaí.

Detectives expect to charge the youth once they have the report of garda forensic collision investigators, who are examining the results of tests taken from the scene.
