FRIENDS of a jockey who was paralysed from the chest down after falling from a horse are hoping to raise €40,000 to send him for pioneering stem cell treatment in China.

Luskasz Jedryszik suffered serious spinal cord injuries when he fell from the horse while riding in Fermoy, Co Cork on October 9 last.

The 29-year-old, who came to Ireland six years ago from Poland, is now confined to a wheelchair and is being cared for at his Kinsale home by his wife, Maya.
