False alarm for bomb disposal

AN army bomb disposal team carried out a controlled explosion on a suspicious device in Swords.

The Defence Forces deployed the team to the scene outside Swords Garda Station in response to a request by the gardaí.

The device, which was located underneath a vehicle, was found it to have no explosive content, and the scene was declared safe at 5pm.
