PROSTATE cancer screening does not save lives and are more trouble than they are worth, according to a report in the British Medical Journal.

The 20-year study looked at men in their 50s and 60s. Nearly one-sixth of 9,026 men were screened every three years between 1987 and 1996.

But after two decades of follow-up checks, there wasn’t a difference in death rates between those who were screened and those who weren’t.
