Red carpet heralds new leaf in Irish guest book

FROM Ajai Chopra and Olli Rehn to Barack Obama and now the Queen — our visitors’ book is showing gradual signs of improvement.

And in an historic move it believes mirrors the zeitgeist, the GAA said it is “pleased to have been asked to receive” Queen Elizabeth at its headquarters when she arrives on a state visit next month.

It has been confirmed that the queen will commence a four-day visit on Tuesday, May 17, taking in Dublin, Kildare, Cashel and Cork.
